ASIC’s Latest Simplification Update: Electronic Signatures and Expanded Email Lodgements
As reported in ASIC InFocus October 2025, ASIC has introduced two key updates aimed at streamlining corporate compliance: support for electronic signatures on most ASIC forms and the upcoming expansion of email lodgement options.

Electronic Signatures Now Accepted
ASIC now permits electronic signatures on most approved PDF forms available from its website. This includes signatures made directly on touchscreen devices or digital insertions of a person’s usual handwritten signature. While some exceptions remain, this update allows for more flexible and efficient document execution, especially for remote teams and time-sensitive filings.
Email Lodgement Expansion Coming Soon
ASIC has also announced plans to expand email lodgement to include more forms that currently require hard copy submission. This initiative will offer clients greater choice and convenience, without removing the option to lodge by post.
